A city so remarkable, Florence has even been included as a UNESCO Heritage Site. Magnificent cathedrals and rich museums attract tourists to this bustling city. Some of the top attractions in Florence include the museums Galleria degli Uffizi and Galleria dell’Academia, as well as the intricate and breathtaking Duomo.
Due to the impressive collection of Renaissance art that it houses, the Galleria degli Uffizi is one of the top museums in Florence. By booking tickets in advance one can avoid long lines, and by predetermining which pieces to see, visitors can avoid being lost in the commotion. For a break from the bustle of this Florence museum and for a fantastic view of Piazza della Signoria make your way to the roof-top café for a light snack and refreshing drink.
Another top attraction in Florence, and one of the most famous museums in Italy, is the Galleria dell’Academia. Originally designed in Gothic style by Arnolfo di Cambio, Fillipo Brunelleschi later completed the Duomo in 1436. In the Piazza del Duomo you will find some of noteworthy attractions of Florence, Giotto’s Campanile and the Florence Baptistery.
Although there are many attractions within Florence, visitors to Florence also enjoy taking a trip to the nearby wineries in Chianti. As one of the top wine regions in Italy, Chianti attracts many visitors who come to enjoy the scenery, food, and, of course, the Chianti.
